Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information practiceforatypingtest.com (https://practiceforatypingtest.com/) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain language. If anything is unclear, please contact us at practiceforatypingtest@gmail.com.

Who we are

practiceforatypingtest.com is a free typing practice and typing test website. We are the data controller for the information described in this policy. You can reach us at practiceforatypingtest@gmail.com.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the site and help you improve your typing.

  • Information you give us. If you create an account, we store your username, email address and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in readable form. If you email us, we keep your message and address so we can reply.
  • Typing activity and results. If you are signed in, we save your test results, such as your speed, accuracy and an aggregated summary of the keys you mistype most often, so we can show your progress and build your practice plan. We do not record every individual keystroke. If you practise as a guest, your results and preferences are stored in your own browser and are not sent to our server.
  • Custom practice text. Any custom text you type stays in your browser and is not saved on our server unless you are signed in and explicitly choose to save it.
  • Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our server and service providers may record standard technical details such as your IP address, browser type, device and the pages you visit, for security and to keep the site working.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for the full list and how to control them.

How we use your information

  • To provide the typing tools, save your progress and generate your personalised practice plan.
  • To create and manage your account, and to respond to your messages.
  • To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.
  • To display advertising that helps keep the site free, as described below.

Advertising

We may show advertisements to help keep practiceforatypingtest.com free to use. We may use Google AdSense and other third-party advertising partners.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.com.

For more information on how Google uses data when you use our site, see Google's partner site policy.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the site (such as our web host), with advertising partners as described above, and where we are required to by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

How long we keep information

We keep account and result data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, or ask us to delete your data, we remove your personal information and your stored typing results. Aggregated data that no longer identifies you may be kept.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights by emailing practiceforatypingtest@gmail.com. Signed-in users can also manage and delete their data from their account area.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including hashing passwords and serving the site over a secure connection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International visitors

Our site can be accessed worldwide. Your information may be processed and stored on servers located in a country other than your own, where data protection laws may differ.
