Weak Key Practice

We look at the keys you have actually been missing and pull practice text from the built-in lesson library that uses them heavily. Nothing is generated - the passages are the same original lessons you can browse yourself.

  • abc Incorrect (wavy underline)
  • abc Corrected (dotted underline)
  • abc Missed (struck through)

Underlined keys are the home row. Use the opposite hand for Shift where you can. QWERTY layout.

You can practise on a phone or tablet, but a physical keyboard gives a far more accurate WPM measurement. On-screen keyboards add their own delay.

The keys people usually struggle with

  • The number row, because the fingers have to leave the home row and most people never drill it.
  • Shift and capital letters, particularly when the same hand tries to do both.
  • Punctuation on the right-hand little finger: semicolon, apostrophe, slash and brackets.
  • Letter pairs that share a finger, such as E and D, or I and K.
  • Missed spaces at the end of short words when typing quickly.

If the same finger keeps appearing in your report, revisit proper finger placement - the fix is usually posture rather than practice volume.
